The first deadline of the year, requiring all fiscal bills in their first house be out of their policy committees saw 276 bills fail, while in 2022 and 2020 there were 362 and 295 bills which failed, respectively. While Friday the 16th’s deadline, which required all bills in their first house be out of committees and move onto the floor had 467 fail. In 2022, 401 bills failed this deadline and in 2020, 373 bills failed.
The final Deadline of January requiring all bills introduced in 2023 be out of their first house, has passed and any bills remaining in their house of origin will be marked Dead on Friday. We’ll have another comparison graph ready next week!
