Friday, May 2nd brings our first major Legislative Deadline of the 2025-26 Session. Since these deadlines drive the California Legislature, CapitolTrack provides several tools and nuances to help you navigate this crucial process.
Tomorrow’s deadline requires all Fiscal Bills to be out of their Policy Committees and move on to Appropriations. Here’s how Deadlines are managed in CapitolTrack:
Bills which fail a deadline in the first year of session are marked 2-Year.
Both the Status and Location will be updated to reflect the failed deadline.
Locations like 2-Year can be excluded from your reports.
Lastly, you can set reports to Sort by: Deadline. (shown above)
Take advantage of these reporting tools to monitor upcoming deadlines, report on deadline failures, and then exclude those measures which fail from future reports. If you’d like any help with these features or have any quesions, please let us know.
